“I’m too old to start”
Most of our members have never stepped foot onto a martial arts mat until well into their 30’s or 40’s. We’ve created our curriculum to be accessible to athletes and non-athetes alike. Our Beginners and Techniques class will walk you through the basics of MMA and martial arts techniques in a non-threatening, totally casual environment.
You won’t have to stand there with people 20 years younger than you, trying to follow a model and feeling like a complete dunce.
You’ll have individualized attention, learn at your pace, and have the satisfaction of hitting stuff (and people) in no time.

“I’m too young to start”
We absolutely love to see teens and college age kids in our classes, because we’re confident we’re giving them the skills they need to protect themselves in a scary, changing world.
You can safely send your “grown” kids to our classes, knowing that we’re 100% personally invested in their well-being, on and off the mat. We’ve created a family atmosphere and would go to bad for any of our younger members.

OK, it’s not ballet class. But the truth is, we train in a safe and controlled environment where you might get a few bruises, but you’ll know your training partners are looking out for your safety.
We break each technique – even throws – into small bites. Once members have mastered each piece of a technique, only then do we move on.
No one is put in harm’s way.
Besides, learning to take a controlled hit means living fearlessly in the real world. It creates confidence you can’t imagine.
“I can never wear that white uniform thingy”
Saifa was founded on the idea that training in martial arts should be comfortable and free of formalities that intimidate people from joining.
We train in leggings or MMA shorts and Saifa tee-shirts, so you’re as close as you can get to real-life street wear.
In real life, no one is getting attacked in their Gi (that’s the white uniform thingy), and we want you to be completely comfortable and free to move. You’ll need your favorite athletic wear, and a Saifa-issued shirt (we have a variety to choose from).
“I have to be in great shape to train”
You get in great shape BY training. The fact is, whether you’re in top shape or just starting your fitness journey, everyone leaves the mat huffing, puffing, sweaty and sore.
Everyone is asked to do their best, and to do what they can, and to get better every week.
We are a non-competitive atmosphere where each student is valued, championed, and respected for showing up, being willing to learn, and being committed to improvement.
We’ve had members join when they were 40 pounds overweight and couldn’t jog a mile. We’ve had members join who are athletes but found that martial arts was really hard for them.
If you have the desire to become a martial artist, to learn to protect and defend yourself and the ones you love, then you have a place at Saifa.
We founded this dojo to be accessible to every man, woman, and teenager who wants to train. We are a non-intimidating, family environment who will work with you, at your pace, to become the best version of yourself you can be.
